Stomach flu isn’t really a flu. It’s a form of digestive upset which is caused by a virus. It’s very like food poisoning, but that’s caused by a bacteria.

Medically, flu is also considered to be caused by a virus, hence the name of stomach flu.

Symptoms are typically nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea, but really any digestive symptoms can be present.

If you are prone to stomach flu, it shows two things. One is that your immune system is not strong enough to prevent a virus taking hold. The second is that your weakness is your stomach.

Everyone has a weakness. For some it’s their lungs. For others, it’s their joints. Maybe yours is your digestive system.

So to avoid further bouts of stomach flu, you need to address these two aspects. The following lists effective ways to improve these areas:

Raw food. This is all important. Make sure at least 50% (preferably more) is raw fruit and vegetables. Enzymes are destroyed by cooking, but are essential to a healthy gastrointestinal system.

Cut back on the acid making foods. These include processed food (white sugar, artificial sweeteners, white flour, white rice, packets, fast food, etc) and animal protein (meat, chicken, eggs, dairy).

Digestive problems are telling you your liver is struggling. Medical drugs, vaccines, OTC drugs, recreational drugs all put your liver under strain to a greater or lesser degree. Avoid them as much as you can. Avoid excessive alcohol for the same reason. Try to avoid chemicals in your home.

Practice having a positive, optimistic frame of mind. This will go a long way to improving your overall health. Negative or pessimistic people are more unhealthy. Let go of those friends or colleagues who drag you down.

Get out into nature. Become part of it. Delight in the way the raindrops fall, the sun rises, the buds fill out, the leaves change colour, the aerobatic of the birds…

Exercise in some way. It could be walking your dog regularly, or going to the gym, or taking up yoga. Anything that you will enjoy, so you will do regularly and happily.

Make sure you get enough sleep. You optimum amount may be three hours or eight hours. Only you know how much you need to be alert. Make sure you get it.

Get enough sun. You need at least an hour’s exposure to sunlight every day to keep you healthy. The sun also converts cholesterol into vitamin D. Exposure should be on naked skin (no sun block) and naked eyes. Just don’t frazzle or overdo it in the middle of the day in summer.

Buy yourself a homeopathic home prescribing kit which includes medicines for stomach flu. That way you can nip it in the bud if a bout does come along.

Stomach flu doesn’t have to be a serious illness. But it could be a wake up call for you to take remedial action. Taking proactive action now will bode well for your future health. Allow it to continue, and you can expect your health to deteriorate.

Puerto Vallarta owing to a few border skirmishes at its border due to narcotics faced a very slight almost meager change in tourism. The beaches remained swarmed with people and generally people were enjoying a slightly festive atmosphere.

With the onslaught of the alleged Swine Flu, or the “Swine Flu Scare” that began, Puerto Vallarta changed over night. It became what it never was before, and that folks was “somber”. Businesses closed down, schools got shut, and cruises were stopped. And our Puerto Vallarta became quiet.

Now things are returning back to normal, however the cracks in the economy caused by the Swine Flu are still deep. The Packaging Food Party of Puerto Vallarta works diligently for the moral and economic uplift of those people who have lost their jobs due to the economic tumult. On 28th of July, 65 members of the packaging party came together and shared an important spiritual bonding with not only each other but also all of the deprived people of Vallarta. The fabulous packaging team completed a total number of 865 bags in a matter of 45 minutes. Isn’t that a remarkable accomplishment? People with high spirits and an agenda to help and support came forward from different places in order to provide aid to the needy. On such occasions one realizes how great Puerto Vallarta is and how helpful are its people.

All the volunteers headed into the PVRPV’s offices despite the sweltering weather on Tuesday, to package food for the DIF’s Child Protective Services Programs. Bags which each had 1 kg of beans, 1 kg of lentils, 1 kg of rice, 12 bullion cubes and 1 kg of soup pasta were packed. These food items were scattered all over the PVRPV office and it was the constant hard effort of all of the volunteers that made this drive a success. The volunteers constantly joked and helped each other and made sure the environment was jovial throughout.

All volunteers diligently packed, sorted and donated these packages amongst the people. Some of these volunteers are even engaged in other fundraising activities. Some volunteers were responsible for packaging while the others were responsible for tying the bags and the remaining were either tallying the bags or moving them. One of the volunteers even brought delicious cookies for the rest to enjoy. The most amazing part about this packaging party was the amount of harmony that could be seen in the volunteers. They constantly smiled while working quickly and efficiently. Their eyes were glowing because of their rare accomplishment and it was obvious that all of them realized what a noble and gifted cause they were all a part of.

After working hard the volunteers hit the street where after a mild rain shower, the temperature cooled down considerably. Now that a total of 865 bags are packaged, and that too miraculously in only 40 minutes, it almost seems as if the Food Drive is well on its way in providing solace and comfort to all the needy.

In spite of all the negative press that Puerto Vallarta is receiving because of the alleged “Swine Flu,” Puerto Vallarta is and remains one of the most beautiful places in Mexico. Even though the real estate market is suffering, but there are still some threads that are holding this industry tight. If you really wonder what is going on in Puerto Vallarta in terms of the real estate, than I shall brief you on the current real estate scenario.

Since Puerto Vallarta is at a tropical location, there is no better place to reside once you retire. Surely properties in Philadelphia are cheap but, here in Puerto Vallarta, you will get the opportunity to enjoy dazzling beaches, friendly environment and an amazing weather. Just buy a condo in Puerto Vallarta, and get the lifestyle that is a dream of many.

The relative prices for real estate in Puerto Vallarta are great. I mean if you are getting a nice, cozy place with two bedrooms and two baths on a beach for $399,000 USD, what more could you possibly want? Try getting that in California…you’re just lucky Puerto Vallarta exists!

I know the press is going all “Run for your lives, here comes Swine Flu,” in Vallarta, but the reality is totally different. Most of the people are re-booking, but just for the record, no case of the dreaded swine flu is in Puerto Vallarta or any neighboring states. The other scares, like the drug lords, do you really think that the stuff you watch in films can happen in real? The drug lords who are at the border do not drive a thousand miles, south to Puerto Vallarta for the sole purpose to hassle the tourists. So stop making excuses, Puerto Vallarta is a dream paradise and nothing less!

Excellent Medical and Dental facilities are available and that too at a very cheap price. But if you laugh and smile and just generally have a great time with your friends and family, you would not need the doctors at all.

The beaches in Puerto Vallarta are great and the water is ideal for boogie boarding. Once you view the sun setting radiantly on the horizon, sitting on the beach with a chilled drink in your hand, you wonder how much of the press about the killer flu is based on the reality; because trust me it would seem like any other normal day on the beach. The bars are still open and people are still planning their parties and dinners. Why should you be left behind?

It is pretty much the same precautionary measures that you would take everywhere. Stay away from drugs, do not parade your money, be friendly to the people and just wash your hands. You will get all that you need here, so why the delay. You’re all set.

Get more information on Puerto Vallarta rentals, contact Pvrpv dot com at the following numbers. Their Mexican office number is 322.222.0638. In case you are calling from the USA or Canada, call on their local Vonage number 206.388.3703. You can email to Tim at his email address. For more details visit Pvrpv dot com which has been successfully servicing the tourists & local community for the past four years. They have a qualified staff with years of experience and they may help you with rental properties in Puerto Vallarta.

How long does the flu last is an open ended question. A bit like how long is a piece of string. It depends entirely on you and your circumstances. You are unique. You can’t compare yourself with anyone else.

But there are some contributing factors which will predispose you to flu.

Everyone has an achilles heel. For some it’s joints. This usually goes with heart. For some it’s accidents. You probably know people who are accident prone. For some it’s liver. And for some it’s the lungs and the respiratory system.

If you have never had a problem with colds, flus and your lungs, the chances are you never will. Your achilles heel may lie elsewhere.

But if you get colds and flus quite often, then your lungs are probably your achilles heel.

It’s quite normal to have only one area of weakness in your body. In normal life, you’ll generally not have more. Generally, when someone has more than one area of weakness, such as heart and lungs, you’re seriously ill.

So how long does the flu last, if you are prone to colds and flu? Again that comes down to you. If your nutrition is good, you eat plenty of fresh, raw fruit and vegetables, get plenty of sun, plenty of exercise, plenty of fresh air and you’re a pretty optimistic type of person, then the chances of the flu lasting long is quite remote. If you contract it at all. It might just be a cold.

However, if your nutrition is poor, with little exercise, little exposure to the sun and fresh air and you’re a pessimistic type of person, your bout of flu is likely to be prolonged. Especially if you take medication for it, instead of just going to bed for the duration.

Illnesses have a way of making you do something. It may be that you just need to take time out for a few days. Bed rest could be all that is necessary.

On the other hand, it could mean that you have avoided your ill health for so long, this time you’ll not get away with it. This time, your body will insist on a prolonged rest. Possibly even a period in hospital, as that will make you rest.

I don’t know of any culture where you are educated about your health. About how to keep healthy and what to do if your health looks a bit wobbly.

In these days in being fearful of the sun, many people are not getting enough. Rickets is making a come back. The sun is a bit like water and salt. Too much can kill you. But so can too little.

If you allow your body to do what it wants to do (go to bed), without suppressing the symptoms with medication (if you’re not badly ill), you are likely to have a health spurt afterwards. A bit like a child’s growth spurt. You have evolved, or matured.

By your actions, and yours alone you, unconsciously or consciously, decide on how long the flu will last for you.

There are as many reasons for chronic fatigue as there are people suffering from it. How it started in you is unique to you. It may have started after you recovered from an acute disease. It may have started after a medical procedure, such as an operation or a vaccination. It may have started after you suffered a bad shock, after an accident or after a fright.

One of the most common scenarios for chronic fatigue is after you have recovered from a bad dose of a virus, particularly the flu. It is reckoned that over half chronic fatigue sufferers come from this.

It’s bad enough that you had a bad dose of the flu, without complications afterwards. Especially complications that seem to drag on and on.

You can be so debilitated that you have to give up hobbies and pastimes or even work. Your social and family life suffers as a result. Your partner may not be very sympathetic, thinking you’re putting it on to get those extra hours in bed.

You miss out on your children’s activities because you have no energy either to take an interest in them or to muster up the energy to take them out.

The good news is that there is highly effective and totally natural help at hand.

In the form of homeopathic remedies.

Which you can buy over the counter inexpensively and treat yourself.

The homeopathic remedy Gelsemium is a great candidate for resolving your chronic fatigue if it started after a bad dose of the flu. But your symptoms do have to match those of the remedy to affect a healing.

So lets look at some of the most important keynote symptoms you might have or had during the flu for Gelsemium to work for you.

never well since the flu or flu vaccination

a great heaviness, even your head, eyelids and/or tongue feel heavy

trembling of your arms or legs especially after slight exertion

chills down your back or heat alternating with chills

you have no desire to drink at all

headache which is better after you have urinateddizziness

dullness

For any homeopathic remedy to work, you only need three keynote symptoms. Bearing in mind you already have one, the first one, you only have to pick out another two.

Another symptom you probably have is the heaviness or dullness so typical in chronic fatigue.

If you find you’re also dizzy or thirstless, there’s your third keynote symptom.

You can buy some common homeopathic remedies from health shops, homeopaths and homeopathic pharmacies.

For home prescribing, you are limited to the potency (or strength) of the remedies you can purchase. So you should only be able to purchase low potencies, such as a 6c or a 30c. 30c is more powerful than 6c.

Directions will be on the bottle, so follow them. As a general rule, take the 6c twice a day or the 30c once every day or every other day.

Within about a week, you should be noticing some change, if only small. The changes may be subtle, but you should be noticing that you have a bit more energy. If this is the case, carry on. Stop when you have reached your old level of energy.

However, if you don’t see any changes after about a week to 10 days, then you probably didn’t get the symptoms right and Gelsemium is not for you. In which case you should discontinue with the remedy. It won’t help every case of chronic fatigue that developed after a virus. But it will help many.

The latest press release issued by Jalisco State Governor’s office confirmed that there have been no cases of Swine Flu in Puerto Vallarta yet. Still however, the state is taking measures to avoid this outbreak. Puerto Vallarta is taking steps to save the residential areas, towns and cities around the state and other tourist spots.

The city has started with the basic steps by closing down all night clubs and bars especially in the Old Town until May 4-6. Some bars located north of Centro are open and all those having license are allowed to remain open. A number of events and shows have been postponed or cancelled.

Movie theatres have been closed down until further notice, Taco stalls and stands have also been closed to avoid crowded places. Restaurants are allowed to remain open, but they have to close down by midnight and are not allowed to serve more than 2 alcoholic drinks to customers. The May Day Parade which was supposed to be held on 1st May has been cancelled and the Political campaigns for the general election on July 6 have also been postponed. The much awaited match for the Beach Soccer Qualifier has also been canceled.

The Blueshire Trip Rave scheduled for May 2nd has been postponed. All other activities and festivals including those for the Cultural Department of Puerto Vallarta planned for May have been cancelled or postponed. The traditional Vallarta May Fiesta will now begin on May 9. The State is making a special effort to control visual screening of passengers at air ports and buses too are being cleaned with disinfectants and bleaches.

Drivers are provided with masks. Visits to prisons in Jalisco have also been suspended till May 6. All these rules and regulations have been issued for your safety, so try to follow up and check up on schedules if you were planning to attend any event.

There are doubts that the deaths caused by flu have not been caused by swine flu, instead by the regular flu which kills 36,000 people every year in the US alone. People are in a state of panic and researchers too are worried because this unknown strain has no cure or vaccine as yet. However, confusion continues as according to some reports there have been no deaths caused by swine flu.

Two Albertans have returned to Canada with a mild form of swine flu. This news has been confirmed by the officials however, they have not given out details of the age of the patients or which places they visited in Mexico. Canada fears many more cases now but so far only a few have been reported and no deaths as yet.

A travel advisory has been issued for Mexico, hence Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations have suspended operations to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Cozumel till June 1. The airlines say that flights to Mexico will continue. WestJet and WestJet Vacations too have suspended operation in Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta till May 4 at least. This decision is definitely going to affect the passengers, however not the tourism industry of Mexico. As summer approaches, the high season for tourism also comes to an end. The number of tourists going to Mexico for a vacation decreases in number till Mid May, thus the tourism industry will not suffer much loss.

Dr. Alejandro Rios is a local Internal Medicine Doctor and is also a member of the Puerto Vallarta Epidemiology Committee. He gave the latest update on the swine flu saying that there are no confirmed cases on swine flu in Puerto Vallarta or Jalisco as yet. However, Mexico City has already reported 26 cases of swine flu. Indeed the disease is spreading very fast and the President and Secretary of State are taking strict precautions to control this disease. In Puerto Vallarta, the streets remain silent and empty. Though this silence is adding to the fear, it is still better to remain indoors. Dr. Alejandro Rios condemned those who are using this opportunity to visit the beach, enjoying a mini vacation and claimed that the best thing to do is remain calm, be patient and wait for the government to give the right news.

These difficult times may even be a blessing in disguise. There would be no point in increasing or lowering prices and creating more competition amongst the already receding market. Collaboration and team work can help us all at this time. The airline industry has already made a daring move to stand together as powerful alliances. They are sharing ideas, customer information and together working at the budgets to face the difficult situation. Other brands and competitors too can join alliances and collectively use resources to advertise and join the campaign.

“Pie in the Sky” is a name very familiar to all residents. For 2 decades, it has proved to be Banderas Bay’s favorite spot for best cakes, pies and other delicious things. Mother’s day is an opportunity to delight mothers with the yummiest creamy cakes in every shape and every color. Pie in the Sky is preparing cakes coated with rich icings, even the mouth watering Belgium chocolate which will prove to be quite a treat for everyone especially mothers. You can still order before May 3rd and design the type of cake you want for your mother. These custom made cakes are made out of fresh ingredients. Pie in the Sky also offers a variety of fat free desserts, vegan and sugar free cakes. These cakes are worth every penny you will spend. You can still pick any of the ready made cakes which will be at display in case you forget to order before hand.

Doctors believe that swine flu has been around since a while now, but the outbreak has just been recognized. Nevertheless this potential pandemic can be controlled by making the simplest changes. The easiest solution that all doctors are advising is to wash hands as much as possible. This advice is simple and following it is just as easy. Swine flu is confirmed to be an airborne respiratory disease which is widely known to spread because of coughing or sneezing. Beware; even people who do not show signs of illness maybe carrying the infection. Once again to avoid all risks, face masks may help you but washing hands is an absolute must.

I chose to research information about the H1N1 virus to make a more educated decision on whether or not I should have my daughter vaccinated.

The presence of this virus was brought to our attention in the spring of 2009 when the Mexican government began closing most of the public facilities in Mexico City due to an outbreak. Evidently, there was already a case of widespread swine flu there before it caught our attention. It spread to the United States as well as many other countries by June of 2009. The swine flu dates back to 1918 when it was commonly referred to as the Spanish Flu, though its origin was never detected. Five hundred million people were affected world-wide and 50 to 100 million people died as result. The virus attacked people with healthy immune systems and the popular idea that children and elderly people would be affected the most was not the case. A healthy immune system would over-do itself to try to beat the virus and in the meantime, it would overreact and actually have the reverse effect on the body.

A strain of H1N1 was responsible for a smaller outbreak in 1976 where a soldier at Fort Dix died right after complaining of not feeling well. This strain was controlled, but a new one was born right after which spread very quickly. A vaccination was created to prevent the re-occurrence of the epidemic that took so many lives in 1918. The vaccination helped with the spread of the virus, but it ended up taking more lives than the virus itself. Many died as the result of adverse reactions to the vaccine and 532 people were diagnosed with Guillian-Barré syndrome as a direct result from taking it. This is an autoimmune disorder that results in nerve damage among many other debilitating health problems. Many people who have Guillian-Barré syndrome need to undergo a form of dialysis where antibodies are removed from the blood and the blood is replenished back to the body. It is possible to survive this health condition but there is usually a long road to recovery which can take many years.

There was a limited case of swine flu labeled as Zoonosis which was detected in 1988 when apregnant woman in Wisconsin died after being in contact with infected pigs at a fair. There were a few others who came in contact with her that were infected with a mild form of the virus. Many pigs were found to be infected across the entire U.S. in 1998 and it was deemed that the pigs had a typical flu that transformed into a new strain due to a combination of their own flu fused with those of humans and birds. Many pigs were infected in the Philippines in 2007 as well. The H1N1 virus is a combination of influenza spun from four different forms including 2 parts human flu, 1 part bird flu and 1 part pig flu.

The 2009 H1N1 virus exhibits symptoms that are similar to your everyday flu. These include a sudden fever and cough along with any of the other common flu symptoms like chills and body aches. Most people who catch the virus can treat it as they normally would with bed rest and fluids. People who have a weakened immune system can experience further complications like pneumonia or even respiratory failure. Those who are considered to be at a higher risk are people under 5 and over 65 years old. People who have recently undergone asthma treatments by taking prescription drugs are also at risk. H1N1 can have an incubation period of up to 7 days, though this has not been confirmed. It can be acquired the same way as the common flu through something as simple as a sneeze. One out of 1,000 people died of the swine flu which is comparable to the amount of people who have died from common flu. The best way to prevent from getting sick is by routine hand washing and covering your mouth and nose with a tissue when you sneeze or cough and quickly disposing it.

How do we know if we have a common flu or the swine flu? In most cases we don’t and physicians normally do not test patients to differentiate which virus they have. They will conduct a test if the symptoms are severe by administering a blood test or swabbing the back of the nose and throat. H1N1 is usually treated with Tamiflu or Relenza when it is diagnosed. These are antiviral medications that are used to treat the symptoms until the virus runs its course. The fact that most people are not tested for the H1N1 virus is concerning.

The numbers of people who actually carry this virus has to be unknown if everyone infected with flu symptoms has not been tested. Even though most people with this virus have a mild form of it, I would think that The World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would want to know how many cases are out there whether the infected people have severe symptoms or not. If this virus is more widespread than we think, perhaps it’s possible for an even larger strain to develop that we are not prepared for. I’m wondering why it is recommended to be vaccinated this year to prevent this illness if there is not enough concern for doctors to even test for it. The fatality rate is the same for the H1N1 virus as it is for the common flu and most of us have functioned just fine without a vaccination for that.

The H1N1 vaccination is not a cure for the virus as it is simply a preventative measure. Flu vaccines are on average 70-80% effective according to information provided by Fox News. Keep in mind that if you take this vaccine, you will be injected with a form of the virus that has been grown inside chicken eggs in a laboratory. Testing for the product’s safety just began earlier this month and it is already deemed to be safe. It is now being “tested” on pregnant women and children. Are these pregnant women and parents of these children who are being “tested” willing participants? It is possible for a person to develop immunity about 5 weeks after the vaccination process is complete, allowing you to fall victim to the virus in the meantime.

This is due to the fact that each person will need at least two rounds of the vaccine for it to be effective. It is said that there will only be a portion of the vaccines available in October, then more vaccinations will be released each month thereafter. Is this a way to test the vaccine that was just recently reconstructed from the same type of vaccine that was administered in 1976? This is not all that concerns me. They will also be throwing in additives that have never been tested to the second batch of vaccines. How long will they test that batch if it hasn’t even been created yet?
Do I want to vaccinate my daughter? I think not, and I hope it does not become mandatory. I have weighed the pros and cons of getting her vaccinated. Do I take extra precautions so my daughter does not get the virus that is practically identical to the common flu? Keeping her safe from the flu doesn’t seem as important as preventing the problems that can occur from taking the vaccine. The vaccine administered in 1976 and the cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome that resulted from it is concerning. I would rather my child have a mild form of the flu than to die from her immune system attacking her nervous system later in life. Neurologists have already been alerted to keep their eyes open for new cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome when the vaccination is released. It seems that the risks outweigh the benefits with this vaccine, but it’s not easy for drug companies to turn down an opportunity to make a killing in revenue.

The symptoms of flu, or influenza, that sets it apart from an ordinary cold are fever and body aches. You can also have the normal cold symptoms of discharge, headaches, cough, and sore throat as these can relate to any upper respiratory tract problem. You also might have gastrointestinal problems.

Most people suffer from the occasional cold during autumn, winter or spring. And this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Discharges can be a toxic clearing, so should never be suppressed.

However, most people would prefer to avoid the debilitating types of flu. Here are seven ways that you can start now, to remain healthy next season.

Make sure you eat well. This means lots of fresh fruit and vegetables that should make up at least 50% of your diet. Raw is best. Eat lots of green, leafy vegetables. Avoid or limit processed food (white sugar, artificial sweeteners, white flour, white rice). Limit dairy and meat.

Get plenty of sun. These days, the sun has an unfounded bad reputation. If you’re not getting enough sun, it’s likely you’ll never be well. How much is enough sun? That depends on you, your location and the season. But I suggest one hour is the minimum daily exposure (not necessarily in the middle of the summer, in the middle of the day).

Make sure you keep your liquids up. Drink when you’re thirsty. Avoid or limit soft drinks.

Adequate rest is essential to keeping your body healthy. If you are burning the candle at both ends, don’t expect to avoid any illness.

Taking a whole food (as opposed to the common synthetic) supplement can be hugely beneficial in topping up any nutritional deficiencies that may be caused either by your diet or by the way food is produced. Blue green algae are the best whole food supplements.

Be a happy, optimistic person. If you’re not that sort of person, work on it, or get professional help. Optimistic people are much healthier than pessimistic ones.

Take the homeopathic flu preventer, Oscillococcinum, also called Anas barb. This is available from homeopathic pharmacies, online, and from some homeopaths, naturopaths, pharmacies, health shops.

These measures are going to do you a great deal more good than remaining in bad living habits and relying on medication or vaccination to provide you with protection against the flu, or a particular strain.

All medication does is to suppress the symptoms, not cure the flu. All vaccination does is to prevent that particular strain, at best. But they can cause neurological damage, or even kill you, at worst.

And the vaccination doesn’t prevent the sequelae, or the spin off. These symptoms go undetected by everyone except the patient and homeopaths.

I woke up one morning, feeling like death warmed up. It was a struggle to get out of bed. But I had animals to feed, so made a valiant effort. Every few minutes I had to sit down, to gather my strength.

Then I had to phone my patients, another enormous task, to cancel my appointments.

Then I thankfully slumped back to bed.

But then I became thirsty.

And I couldn’t go back to sleep.

Eventually I got up and sat in the living room, feeling sorry for myself, possibly dosing.

I couldn’t think. It didn’t help being a practising homeopath at that time. There was no energy to work out what I needed.

By about lunch time, after getting up to get myself yet another drink of water, I suddenly had a eureka moment.

Normally I love tea – actually I’m a bit of a tea-a-holic. And I love it hot and glug it down. All morning I had been sipping at water, which wasn’t entirely due to the fact that I had little energy. I just didn’t feel like tea.

Odd.

One of the things I most love about complimentary alternative medicine is that it generally individualises you. Everyone is an individual. One size doesn’t fit all. My particular favourite is homeopathy, as this medical modality is all about your unique symptoms.

One symptom, like my total exhaustion, wasn’t enough to prescribe a homoeopathic remedy on, as there are many which have this symptom.

You need to have a few good symptoms of a particular remedy, to work out if it will help you. Three good symptoms is normally enough for acute prescribing.

I knew my condition was acute as I had felt the effects of a cold or flu coming on over a few days. Stupidly, I hadn’t taken any action.

So I had two good symptoms – total exhaustion and flu.

The third symptom came to me when I realised I wanted to sip water rather than glug tea.

The homeopathic remedy Arsenicum album is an enormous remedy, with a huge scope for healing many ailments with many different symptoms. Three of the main ones are exhaustion, desire to sip drinks and flu.

Once I started on the remedy, I fell asleep (always a good sign) and then gradually picked up in energy. By late in the afternoon I was up and active. By the following day I was completely recovered.

When you look outside the complementary alternative medicine area, can you see any modality which will heal such a condition so fast and so completely? Without side effects?

Do let me know if you know of one.

Because I’ll eat my hat. Actually I don’t have a hat. I’d have to buy one to eat it…

I don’t know very much about other areas of complementary alternative medicine other than homeopathy, as this is such a huge subject it will take me the rest of my life to really understand it. There is so much to learn.

But it can also be so simple.

A novice home prescriber, armed with a general homeopathic kit, would have had access not only to the remedy, but also to the information to work out which remedy was best suited to my condition.

In recent years, there have been global health scares for bird flu, SARS and now swine flu. But every year, globally, millions are affected by flu anyway. As far as homeopathy, my all time preferred favourite complementary alternative medicine goes, the strain of the virus makes not one jot of difference to the effect the remedy will have on you.

It’s only your unique symptoms which matter. And they are common in any type of flu.

Arming yourself with a quality homoeoapthic home prescribing kit, with clear instructions, and you’re taking control of your life.

But remain open to the other modalities of complementary alternative medicine, too. They all work with your body, so can assist you.

After all the massive publicity of the Swine Flu, and the closing of all businesses and schools in Mexico, finally things are looking up. Now that more information is present for analysis, other countries as well as United States are realizing how the cases of “Swine Flu” were not, and I repeat, WERE NOT linked with travel to Mexico.

All businesses are open in Puerto Vallarta and tourists are taking advantage and are enjoying at this beautiful haven in Mexico. The Travel Warning that was launched by Centers For Disease Control (CDC) in opposition to “non-essential travel” into Mexico, which has been in effect since 27th April 2009 has finally been lifted and now only a “Travel Health Precaution” is there for travel to Mexico. Canada had previously launched a Travel Advisory for Mexico which was officially lifted on 18th May. This “non-essential travel” warning was put on Mexico due to the excessive media hype that was created about the Flu.

Press conferences were also held where the Canadian Chief Public Health Officer Dr. David Butler-Jones stressed on the fact that the “outbreak in Mexico” now seems to be settling down. He also explained that it did not seem logical to put a travel warning to a country where the spread of the virus was similar to that of Canada; which is minimal.

Since the lifting of this travel advisory, the PHAC will cease to provide notices of health alert to the air travelers that are leaving for Mexico. Also, quarantine officers which were previously placed on almost every direct flight coming to Canada from Mexico, will be removed. Nonetheless, the “Canadian Border Services Agency” will continue keeping a check on all of the air passengers who show signs of being under the influence of the swine flu.

Majority of the Canadian Air Carriers have not formally broadcasted the outcome of the travel ban which was placed on Mexico. However, WestJet has announced that it will continue its “no flight policy” to Mexico till June 20th. But what is great is that Air Canada will definitely make a few trips to Puerto Vallarta in May. So I don’t think you should be waiting any longer, come on down, because here at Puerto Vallarta everything is safe and healthy.

(NaturalNews) To hear it from the vaccine makers, their vaccines are perfectly safe and have no side effects. A person can receive an unlimited number of vaccines (10, 100 or even 1000) and have absolutely no ill effects, they claim. This is the quack science mythology upon which mass vaccination policies are currently based. But new evidence is emerging that people receiving a seasonal flu shot are made more susceptible to H1N1 swine flu as a result.

CBC News in Canada is now reporting disturbing findings you need to know about: “Four Canadian studies involved about 2,000 people, health officials told CBC News. Researchers found people who had received the seasonal flu vaccine in the past were more likely to get sick with the H1N1 virus.”

The story doesn’t cite the percentage increase in H1N1 virus risk, but it’s apparently enough to give pause to many doctors and infectious disease experts. “We don’t know with this year’s flu shot how it interacts with the pandemic flu shot, so it’s a worry,” said Dr. Michael Gardam in the CBC News article quoted below. He’s the director of infectious diseases prevention and control at the Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion.

The upshot of all this is that Canadian health officials are now scratching their heads, wondering whether the seasonal flu vaccines will actually make the H1N1 pandemic worse!

It’s fascinating that this data is coming out of Canada, not the U.S. In the United States, the mainstream media has engaged in a virtual blackout of any information that questions the safety of vaccines, even while openly pushing outrageous lies about the swine flu vaccine (http://www.naturalnews.com/027055_swine_flu_vaccines_swine_flu_vaccine.html).
Vaccines weaken your immune system

What this information reveals is further evidence that flu shots damage or weaken your immune system, making you more susceptible to subsequent infections. Flu shots don’t even work to reduce your risk of getting the flu that they’re targeting! Most people who get the flu are the very same people who routinely receive flu shots.

This will hold true with H1N1 swine flu as well: The people getting the swine flu virus will be primarily those who routinely receive flu vaccinations.

You know why? Because a flu shot trains your immune system to be lazy. It exposes your immune technology to an artificially weakened virus, resulting in a lazy adaptive response from your immune technology. In much the same way that your leg muscles atrophy if you stop walking, your immune system begins to weaken if you don’t exercise it. And this leads to an increased risk of being unable to defend against future exposure to infectious disease, which is exactly what we’re seeing with this Canadian study.

Vaccines are the quackery of modern medicine. They not only don’t work to protect people from the diseases they target; they also increase the risk of being infected with other diseases. And that doesn’t even include the ways in which vaccine ingredients (adjuvants or preservatives) can cause permanent damage to your nervous system.

If vaccines strengthen the immune system (as vaccine makers imply), then why do people who take such vaccines end up at higher risk of future infections? The only rational explanation for this is that vaccines compromise immune function. And if that’s true, then why should anyone take them in the first place?
Vitamin D makes flu shot vaccines obsolete

We could do away with vaccines almost entirely by giving people vitamin D supplements instead. Seasonal flu is no match for healthy levels of vitamin D in the blood, and with the addition of a few immune-supporting nutrients (like vitamin C, zinc, and omega-3 oils), the days of people getting sick from the seasonal flu would be all but over.

People who have adequate levels of vitamin D in their blood rarely get sick from seasonal flu. The flu primarily strikes those who are nutritionally deficient in one or more key immune system nutrients.

But rather than teach patients how to correct those deficiencies, the entire industry of western medicine would much rather poke a hole in your arm, inject you with chemicals, charge you forty bucks and keep you in the dark about the nutrients that would have protected you better in the first place. That’s modern medicine for you: Consumer ignorance plus chemical intervention. It’s a great recipe for making money, but it’s a terrible recipe for protecting public health.

That’s why I say just say no to ALL vaccines. They harm you far more than they help, and they’re based on the most absurd medical quackery you can imagine. As is common throughout the pharmaceutical industry, most of the “evidence” supporting the efficacy of vaccines was fabricated by drug companies. There is absolutely no evidence anywhere in the world that says vaccines protect you from seasonal flu better than vitamin D and immune-boosting nutrients. There’s not even any trustworthy evidence that seasonal flu shots reduce your long-term risk of being infected with the flu.

But now there is evidence that receiving a seasonal flu shot may increase your risk of contracting H1N1 swine flu, and that’s something to carefully consider if you value your health (or your life).

With the President declaring the swine flu outbreak a “national emergency” and relaxing the rules to ensure everyone gets their shots “during a crisis,” the way is being paved for frightening the population into accepting a vaccine that is inadequately tested and may well cause more illness than the “epidemic” it is purported to counter.

To be honest, I am more worried about the behavior of the government than I am about a flu virus. I’ve run into flu many times in my long life as I have inept government and I know which scares me the most.

For a start, one can be forgiven for asking “what epidemic?” It appears to be a media phantasm more than anything. There is no evidence thus far to suggest that swine flu is anything but milder than the normal seasonal flu which nations year in and year out take in their stride without fleeing ashen-faced for the hills.

So to whose tune is the White House dancing? What pressure is being applied that brings about this febrile servitude to merchants of fear and chaos?

Upon what are the White House, the media and the pharmaceutical manufacturers basing their wailing and gnashing of teeth and their exhortations to “Be afraid! Be very afraid!” They begin to appear less than level-headed.

While the swine flu provides less of a justification for national and international terror than, say, seasonal flu, malaria, heart disease, diabetes, drug overdoses and deaths while in the hands of psychiatry, the vaccine purported (but not proven) to deal with it is genuine cause for alarm.

I would fear the vaccine the population is to be injected with en masse far more than a dose of flu. There are after all precedents for vaccines doing more harm than the disease.

One only has to look at its list of contents; the antifreeze and mercury, pig blood, rabbit brain and other assorted offal for instance and the very inadequate testing it has undergone, to conclude that one would probably be better off taking their chances with the flu.

After all, media doom-mongering to the contrary, I don’t know anyone personally who has actually had this flu, at least nothing severe enough to be classed as more than a cold. I do know one lady who knows someone who had it and she reports they were off work for three days and then got well. Scary stuff! I see from discussions on the internet many other people who have similar observations.

Of the small number who have tragically died after catching the flu, almost all already had prior health and nutrition issues that rendered them more vulnerable and this very same vulnerability may well place them at risk from the vaccine too.

Reasonably healthy people on the other hand, if they catch it at all, spend a few days in bed, take their vits and ginger. honey and lemon drinks and get over it as the majority of human beings always have done. Based on what we have seen so far, if you are in reasonably good condition, the likelihood of you dying from this flu is almost zero. We cannot yet be so confident about the vaccine

On the other hand, even in good health as I am, I would not inflict upon my body or the bodies of my children the gunk they have put into this improperly checked and tested vaccine. Of course, if they do go ahead and mass-inoculate the population and people get ill or die from the antifreeze, mercury, aluminum and so forth, it will be easy to cover it up by blaming the flu, won’t it?

The H1N1 vaccine lists pig’s blood and “porcine” among its charming list of assorted gunk. I’m not a Muslim but I’m wondering what would be the position should human rights be violated and compulsory vaccination inflicted on the populace, of devout Muslims?

Of the two evils, I’ll take my chance with what at the moment appears to be the lesser: the flu, thank you very much.

And if I take plenty of vits, especially C and D, maintain a healthy diet and keep taking the Wild Blue-Green Algae, I have no doubt I’ll either not catch it at all or I’ll spend a couple of days in bed worrying about the febrile state of mind of my government and then get on with my life.
