Top Beauty Products In The Philippines

There are two names of beauty products philippines that Filipinos have come accustomed with. These are Pond’s Cream and Olay. Both brands are owned by two seperate companies, Unilever and Procter & Gamble. Though both are separate brands owned by two separate companies, its capabilities and use as beauty products are practically the same, although there are several differences with the outcome. So what are the differences and similarities between these two popular beauty products philippines?

Pond’s Cream

Pond’s Cream is one of the many skin care and beauty products marketed under Unilever, a multinational company that owns many of today’s popular brands from foods to beauty products. According to Unilever, Pond’s Cream weren’t always the beauty product known today. In the past, Pond’s Cream were known for its healing effects for small cuts which was then known as Pond’s Extract.

Eventually the product grew from treatment to cosmetics. Some of its most popular brands were Pond’s Vanishing Cream and Pond’s Cold Cream which marked Pond’s Cream’s entrance into the facial care industry.

Today, Pond’s Institute, a company dedicated to the innovation of Pond’s Cream, have yet again unveiled its new product, the Pond’s Age Miracle Cream. The Pond’s Age Miracle Cream is mixture said to be used for preventing the 7 signs of aging. Other reviews have said that Pond’s Age Miracle Creams are less oily, and that women could also put on makeup while wearing the cream.

Olay

Olay (known until 1999 as Oil of Olay in South Africa and North America and Oil of Ulay in the United Kingdom) is a Procter & Gamble brand, based around facial moisturizer skin care products. Unlike Pond’s Cream, Olay were known as a moisturizer. In the past, years, Olay has expanded into a range of other products grouped in “boutiques” including Complete, Total Effects, Professional, Regenerist, Quench (North America), White Radiance (Asia) and Olay Vitamins (USA).

Olay has extended its heritage as a moisturizer to stay looking young, to formally creating the “anti-aging” category in mass stores with the launch of Total Effects in 1999, a product similar to Pond’s Age Miracle Cream. The launch was almost double the typical price of a mass market moisturizer at the time. Today, there are numerous products in market more expensive than Olay, which is why Olay became one of the most popular beauty products philippines.
