Constipation affects almost all people of any age. You may have experienced this at some point in your life, where you had problems in passing hard stools. Most of the time, this affects women more than men, and is a common problem too during pregnancy or after childbirth and surgery. Infrequent bowel movements do not necessarily mean constipation since many have a normal pattern of clearing bowels three or four times a week. So, whether you pass regularly or infrequently, if the process is uncomfortable and painful because of the hard and dry stools, you can be sure that you are suffering from constipation.

There are several ways to manage this and you can choose from a wide variety of natural constipation cure.

However, it will be a great relief if you first understand why constipation occurs and what causes it to see which constipation cure will be fit for you. The common causes are:

*Low fiber foods or not enough fiber in your diet
*Not enough physical activity

There are some fruits known to be very effective in treating constipation. Bael or wood apple, papaya, pears, figs, grapes and watermelon are just some of them. Fruits high in fiber and water content are good remedies to relieve this.

Drinking ginger tea or senna leaf tea can also facilitate bowel movement. However, the best treatments to get rid of constipation are eating a well balanced diet, exercising regularly and drinking a lot of liquids.
