Some Basic Ways Of Treating Hair Loss

Many people know that hair loss is caused by presence of dihydrotestosterone in blood, which negatively influences hair follicles. However, it does not give an explanation why someone has hair at the extremely old age, and others grow bald at 20.
Hair loss used to be a sign of redundancy of man’s hormone testosterone. However, researches have shown that follicles are not sensitive to this hormone, dihydrotestosterone destroys it. Then enzyme 5-alpha-reductase attracted attention of scientists, it is the so-called “committer of tragedy” (or “gene of alopecia”). During numerous researches it was found out that such behaviour of 5-alpha-reductase has purely hereditary character. And this gene passes from mother to son. In other words, if your grandfather by your mother’s side had problems with hair, there is 90 per cent of probability for you to face this problem during a life. Also it doesn’t matter that the grandfather grew bald being older than you are now but you can start to lose hair in the finest years of your life.

There are two reasons of appearance of dihydrotestosterone in the organism. Sexual system develops such raw materials as testosterone and enzyme 5-alpha-reductase processing testosterone in dihydrotestosterone. To change a behavior of enzyme 5-alpha-reductase is impossible. Unfortunately, gene engineering is in an embryo.

So, there are 4 basic ways of treating alopecia:
1. Surgical or functional castration. If you have no testosterone, you have no dihydrotestosterone and as a result – nothing will prevent a follicle from producing healthy hair. This fact, by the way, explains why eunuchs do not grow bald.
2. Suppression of the sexual system by taking internal preparations for reduction of testosterone production.
3. Doing a transplantation of hair from occipital region of head.
4. Using dermatics for protecting a follicle against dihydrotestosterone.

Every method is affordable today. Of course, the first variant cannot be a solution for a problem; modern medicine knows remedies, which are not so drastic.

You can begin taking different internal preparations, which influence sexual system, reducing production of testosterone. And this leads to decrease of dihydrotestosterone concentration in the organism.

But it does not solve a problem. Hair follicles will not be protected. Even small quantity of dihydrotestosterone will suffice for striking a follicle. And harm from such preparations, which block activity of sexual system, have not still been studied up to the end. You can also use dermatics for protection of a follicle against dihydrotestosterone, this is more effective method, but is also a risky one, or you can venture to do a transplantation.

In any case, remember, if you see, that you are losing your hair, it is necessary to do something immediately. Try to treat it, as any other disease, because it is better, than letting the grass grow under your feet. Do not lose time, it costs much!
