Swine Flu: The Commerce of Fear

While the “epidemic” begins to look more and more like a media fabrication as pieces of a larger, horrifying truth begin to slot into place, it is more important that you protect yourself and your loved ones from the flu vaccines than influenza itself.

Let’s look over some rather interesting facts about this year’s attempt to scare the bejeezus out of us.

The swine flu is simply a flu. It is not even a particularly deadly and is milder than the normal seasonal flu. But, oh boy, has it been hyped up in the press!

This year will be the first time both seasonal and pandemic flu vaccines have both been administered. Each flu requires two inoculations. We are told the reason for that is single inoculations have failed to produce sufficient antibodies, which is an admission that prior flu vaccines were virtually useless. So, were we conned in previous years and how then can we trust what we are told this time?

Adjuvants are added to vaccines to boost production of antibodies ( an adjuvant is an agent added to a vaccine to stimulate the immune system and increase the response to the vaccine) but there is evidence these can trigger autoimmune reactions. Some adjuvants being used are mercury (thimerosal), aluminum and squalene – all toxic substances. Mercury is even more brain-toxic than lead.

The vaccine, also known as “Swine Flu Goo,” also contains, as a matter of interest, antifreeze. This is very thoughtful what with winter coming on but a list of its ingredients reads like something scraped up from the bottom of a skip outside an abattoir and as a responsible parent I will not be giving it to my kids.

This is the first year that mock vaccines have been used to gain FDA approval. In other words, the vaccines that have been tested and approved are not the same vaccines your children will be given.

In many countries, particularly the United States, over-vaccination has become an epidemic in itself, albeit a profitable one for the pharmaceutical manufacturers that appear to have taken over our governments. American children, for instance, are administered an incredible 29 vaccines by the age of two! Even veterinarians have backed off from over-vaccinating dogs because of observed adverse effects.

Autism is on the rise and modern medicine still has no explanation for this very modern disease. Interestingly, it appears to be more of a problem in countries that heavily vaccinate. The Amish on the other hand do not vaccinate and there is no autism reported among their children.

Quite aside from the physical complications brought about by excessive use of vaccination, many researchers warn that over-use of the flu vaccine and anti-flu drugs making the virus more likely to mutate. Indeed, most seasonal influenza virus strains are now resistant to Tamiflu and it has become nearly worthless against them.

Public health authorities meanwhile exhibit astonishing negligence in that practical ways to strengthen immunity against the flu are consistently neglected, with no options outside of vaccines and anti-flu drugs being offered the citizenry. There is a general decline in resistance to disease due to compromised immune systems and this has been the cue for pharmaceutical corporations to step in with a highly profitable culture of vaccination against everything in sight. This is despite the very strong evidence that vitamins C, E and D, chlorophyll, beta carotene and the trace minerals zinc and selenium boost the immune system. However, educating the public on boosting their immune systems, while it might save lives, increased the quality of life and slash the national health bill, would be of no use to the pharmaceutical corporations who would find inhibited their opportunities to profit from the sale of drugs and vaccines.

There is by the way a strong suspicion in some quarters that the Swine Flu virus is man made. Virologists do admit that this unusual part swine flu/part avian flu/part human flu virus must have taken time to develop. But it somehow wasn’t detected by hundreds of flu monitoring stations across the globe before it suddenly popped up in Mexico. On April 24, 2009 Dr. John Carlo, Dallas County Medical Director, hinted that the H1N1 strain of the Swine flu may have been engineered in a laboratory. He is quoted in the Globe & Mail, Canada, as saying: “This strain of swine influenza that’s been cultured in a laboratory is something that’s not been seen anywhere actually in the United States and the world, so this is actually a new strain of influenza that’s been identified.”

Cast your mind back to the previous swine flu scare in 1976 when the swine flu suddenly appeared at a military base. Read the newspapers from that time: the scaremongering then was remarkably similar to the scaremongering taking place 33 years later. In 1976 also, a vaccine was produced and millions of Americans were vaccinated. But it is a matter of record that the vaccine did more harm than the disease, causing hundreds of cases of Guillain Barre syndrome and several deaths.

Over $9 billion has been allotted by the federal government to develop and deliver an unproven and experimental flu vaccine and, just as in 1976, the US Federal government is heavily involved in promoting the swine flu vaccine with highway billboards and plans to conduct military-style mass inoculations. This is wonderfully remunerative for the pharmaceutical corporations in whose interests President Obama’s White House seems to have some as yet undisclosed investment but why this massive mobilisation of resources over a flu that is not a particularly bad one? After all, the wholesale drugging of US troops in the Middle East with psychotropic medications has killed more Americans through suicide than the flu virus in the homeland but there has not been the same vast mobilisation of resources to prevent further deaths.

It should also be pointed out that rapid mass inoculations will mean that if side effects from these untested, fast-tracked vaccines do occur, it will be too late – adverse effects will emerge only after vast number of people have already been injected. Of course, if this nightmare scenario does occur, I am confident that governments with weak allegiance to the truth and even weaker allegiance to their own citizens will be equal to the task of shifting the blame.

Will we ever be told whether the current flu vaccine is deadly? Well, if it turns out to be, it will not be the first time. In 1993 in the US, the government hid a flu vaccine that killed thousands of nursing home patients. The vaccine-related mortality was so high that it set back the average life expectancy of Americans for the first time since the 1918 Spanish flu! Mortality reports take a year or two to tabulate and the federal government may choose not to reveal the true mortality rate and whether it was related to the flu or the vaccines. “Oh that couldn’t happen!” you say. Well, it did in 1993!

In the US, the federal government looks set to coerce Americans into submitting to vaccination: a further erosion of traditional freedoms in mimicry of the more authoritarian France, which has already ordered enough vaccine to inoculate the entire population and has informed a bemused populace that vaccination will be mandatory. The US government appears meanwhile to be less confident of the meek acquiescence of her citizens and will wait until disinformation campaigns have thoroughly terrified the populace before acting against its own population.

It is a matter of record that public health authorities have cried wolf every flu season to get the public to line up for flu shots. Remember the Bird Flu epidemic? In the US they regularly publish the false figures of 36,000 annual flu-related deaths so as to frighten the public into submitting to flu shots. Yet the truth is that figure is disingenuous, being is based on the combined deaths from pneumonia in the elderly and the flu. Probably 5000–6000 or so flu-related deaths occur each year, although very few healthy people die from it. Most of those who perish already have other serious health problems that leave them weakened and vulnerable. Swine Flu by comparison has so far killed just a tenth of that number.

The news media, as if under orders, has acted more like a propaganda machine in its stunningly irresponsible stirring up of unfounded fear over this flu season. One of the tactics in this scaremongering has been to luridly report every swine flu death. When many more die of the seasonal flu annually with few if any individually reported at all, why choose to loudly trumpet each and every of the fewer swine flu deaths – unless the intent is to frighten the public and get them to submit to the vaccine?

Some Tips: Protect Yourself Without Harmful Drugs

Follow these simple guidelines and keep your health and immune system in tip-top working order so that you’re far less likely to catch the flu to begin with.

Take blue-green algae as part of a healthy diet. Having tried it myself and become enthused by its benefits, I have written a FREE book that will tell you all you need to know about this wonderful natural product. You can pick one up by visiting the website at the bottom of this article.

Take lots of vitamin D. For exactly how much, consult a nutritionist. Vitamin D deficiency is very likely the real reason we have problems with flu – not the flu virus itself.

Avoid sugar and processed foods. Sugar decreases the function of your immune system almost immediately.

Get enough rest. If your body is overly tired it will be harder for it to fight the flu.

Exercise. When you exercise, you increase your circulation and your blood flow.

Increase your intake of healthy and essential fats like the omega-3 found in krill oil or fish.

Avoid processed food.

Wash your hands to decrease your likelihood of spreading a virus to your nose, mouth or other people.

Eat garlic. Garlic works like a broad-spectrum antibiotic against bacteria, virus, and protozoa in the body and it is an absolutely safe product to use. But if you are allergic, avoid as it will.

Avoid hospitals and vaccines. Stay away from hospitals if you can: they are prime breeding grounds for infections of all kinds, and could be one of the likeliest places you could be exposed to flu bugs of all kinds.

Quit smoking if you can. I know it is not easy – I’ve been there. But trust me, you’ll be amazed at how much getting off the dreaded weed can boost your health!

If you or your child catches flu, assist recovery using more traditional cold and flu remedies, such as hydrogen peroxide solution in the ear, zinc lozenges, high quality raw honey, or a homemade cough syrup.

How to Deal with the Jeopardy of Swine Flu?

Swine Flu also known as H1N1 is an up-to-the-minute flu virus that has by no means previously scattered amongst individuals. The H1N1 virus is not related to earlier or existing human cyclic infection viruses. H1N1 was initially sensed in Mexico in April, 2009, it has scattered to scores of countries in the World. H1N1 virus is on the whole a misnomer.

The reason as to why H1N1 is well-known as Swine Flu is that when tests were conducted in the laboratory they discovered that the genes present in this virus are similar to those which are present in pigs i.e. swine. In the lead, it has been discovered that this latest virus has genetic material fragments from the pigs, avian & human being flu virus genes. The scientists have named this as a ‘quadruple reassortant’ virus & for this reason this up-to-the-minute (new) virus is named “influenza-A (H1N1) virus.”

Emblematic Symptoms of Swine Flu:

  1. Relentless & Continuous Queasiness
  2. Body Pains
  3. Impulsive Wooziness
  4. Runny Nose or Stuffy nose
  5. Rapid breathing or difficulty in breathing
  6. Fever, which is more often than not high, however not like seasonal flu, is at times absent.
  7. Not consuming sufficient liquids.
  8. Having pain in the chest or stomach.

Precautions to Be Taken:

  • If you have a fever of 100.5 Fahrenheit or more, contact your physician immediately (be it in daylight hours or hours of darkness) & begin consuming lots of liquids. Stay well hydrated & acquire an analysis & management for no matter what is causing your fever
  • If you have cold or cough, wrap your snout & mouth by means of a hankie & after that toss it out
  • Clean your hands over and over again with soap & water or alcohol antiseptic – this will slaughter the majority of germs.
  • Stay away from inhabitants who have a cold, cough, fever or sneezing, or protest of any flu-like indications.

Swine Flu Vaccine Almost Ready

The WHO has alleged that vaccine producers are on trail to begin delivering the primary batches of Swine Flu vaccine a short time by next month i.e. September. Quite a lot of drug producers have allegedly started testing their vaccines on human beings & untimely safety consequences ought to be accessible by next month, as a result clearing the approach for its exploit.

Drug monitors in United States of America & Europe boast of a fast track drug endorsement development that will make the vaccine accessible yet before widespread safety test are concluded. The WHO does look ahead to spot reports of side effects just the once vaccine supply begins & is suggesting that the foremost vaccine recipients should be health-care personnel.

Swine Flu

1. What is Swine Flu (Swine Influenza)?

Swine flu is a respiratory disease affecting pigs that is caused by type A influenza virus. Swine influenza viruses may circulate among swine throughout the year, but most outbreaks occur during the late fall and winter months similar to influenza outbreaks in humans. It causes high levels of illness but low death rates in pigs.

2. Does Swine Flu affect humans?

Swine flu viruses that cause disease in pigs very rarely affect humans. However,
sporadic human infections with swine flu have occurred. Most commonly, these
cases occur in persons with direct exposure to pigs but there have also been
documented cases of human-to-human spread of swine flu.

3. How does Swine Flu spread to humans?
Swine flu spreads to humans mainly through contact with infected pigs, which shed the virus in their saliva, nasal secretions and faeces. Limited human-to-human transmission can also occur in the same way as seasonal flu occurs in people.

4. Can people catch Swine Flu from eating pork?

There is currently no evidence to suggest that swine flu can be transmitted to
humans from eating pork or pork products that have been thoroughly cooked.

5. What are the symptoms of Swine Flu in humans?

The symptoms of swine flu in people are expected to be similar to the symptoms of regular human seasonal influenza. An early symptom is high fever, and this is
followed by cough, sore throat, runny nose, and sometimes breathlessness a few days later.

6. How can human infections with swine flu be diagnosed?

To diagnose swine flu, a respiratory specimen would generally need to be collected within the first 4 to 5 days of illness (when an infected person is most likely to be shedding the virus). However, some persons, especially children may shed the virus for 10 days or longer.

7. What medications are available to treat swine flu infection in
humans?

There are three different antiviral drugs that are licensed for use in Singapore for the treatment of influenza: amantadine, oseltamivir and zanamivir. Another antiviral drug, rimantadine, is also licensed for use in the United States for the treatment of influenza. While most swine flu viruses have been susceptible to all four drugs, the most recent swine flu viruses isolated from humans are resistant to amantadine and rimantadine. At this time, the US CDC recommends the use of oseltamivir (Tamiflu®) or zanamivir (Relenza®) for the treatment and/or prevention of infection with swine flu viruses.

8. Are there any cases of Swine Flu in Singapore?

To date, there have been no human cases of swine flu detected in Singapore.

9. Is there any cause for alarm in Singapore?

No human swine flu cases have been reported in Singapore. MOH is monitoring the situation closely and will update the public should the situation change.

10. What is MOH doing to ensure that the disease is not
transmitted here?

MOH maintains a comprehensive and well established disease surveillance system for the early detection of human cases of novel influenzas such as swine flu. In addition, MOH has sent a medical alert to all medical practitioners and staff in hospitals, national centres, private medical clinics and polyclinics to update them on the outbreak of swine flu in the USA and Mexico and to advise them to be vigilant for any suspect cases. When the situation warrants, MOH will step up public health measures e.g. quarantine of contacts, issue public health advisories, and work with other government agencies to screen visitors at our border checkpoints. Further, MOH has an influenza pandemic preparedness plan in response to a pandemic situation.

11. Is it safe to visit countries with cases of Swine Flu and will I
be quarantined when I return? What travel precautions should I
take?

There are currently no travel restrictions or quarantine advised by the World Health Organisation for swine flu. If you intend to travel to areas which have cases of swine flu (currently – currently – California, Texas and Kansas in the United States; and Mexico), you should take note of the following measures to minimize your risk of acquiring swine flu:

  • Avoid contact with persons with symptoms of influenza
  • Avoid crowded areas and maintain good ventilation.
  • Observe good personal and environmental hygiene. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water frequently and when they are contaminated by respiratory secretions e.g. after sneezing.
  • Maintain good body resistance through a balanced diet, regular exercise, having adequate rest, reducing stress and not smoking.

As part of national level measures, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) will be implementing precautionary measures at Singapore Changi Airport in light of the outbreak of swine flu cases in Mexico and the United States.

From 2300 hours 26 April, thermal scanners will be deployed to screen passengers on flights arriving from the US. Screening of all arriving passengers will take place from 0800 hours on 27 April 2009, when thermal scanners will be deployed at the Arrival Halls of Terminals 1, 2 and 3. From Wednesday (29 April 2009), the scanners will also be deployed at the Budget Terminal and Seletar Airport. The scanners will measure the temperature of passengers just before they undergo immigration checks. Passengers with a higher-than-normal temperature will undergo a more thorough medical assessment. These precautionary checks are non-intrusive and have no impact on the time needed by passengers to clear the various airport processes. Flights in and out of Changi Airport are continuing as normal.

In addition, health alert notices containing information about swine flu will be placed at the immigration counters for arriving passengers.

12. What should I do if I suspect I have swine flu after returning to
Singapore?

You should consult your doctor as soon as possible and inform your doctor if you
have symptoms of swine flu and had recently travelled to areas which have cases of swine flu (currently – California, Texas and Kansas in the United States; and Mexico).

13. What should I do if I fall ill overseas?

You should consult a local doctor as soon as possible and refrain from traveling until you are certified fit by the doctor.

14. Does influenza vaccination help in preventing Swine Flu?

Vaccines are available to be given to pigs to prevent swine influenza. There is no
vaccine to protect humans from swine flu. The seasonal influenza vaccine is unlikely to protect against H1N1 swine flu viruses.

15. Is it safe to come into contact with live pigs in nature reserves
and the wildlife reserves?

So far, there are no known cases of swine flu in Singapore. However, proper hygiene practices, such as washing of hands after contact with animals including pigs, should be maintained.

Know The Difference Between Swine Flu And Normal Flu

Swine Flu is a number one health concern the world over. The HI1N1 flu or Swine Flu was first detected in US in April 2009. The worst affected areas initially were Canada and Mexico before H1N1 flu cases began to emerge in other areas of the world. In a short span of four months, the disease has spread to almost all regions in the world. World Health Organization has called H1N1 as pandemic which means a big epidemic that involves the entire country or perhaps the world. Usually, the signs of a pandemic are when a virus without any immunity to stop it, spreads across various parts of the world.

Swine Flu spreads from person to person in the same way as regular seasonal influenza viruses spread. People with high risk for seasonal flu are also at high risk for H1N1 flu. For example, people above 65 years of age, pregnant women, children below 5 years of age and those with chronic medical conditions and lifestyle diseases like diabetes are at high risk.

The symptoms of H1N1 is similar to the ones that people get in regular, seasonal flu and so things like fever, sneezing, cough, body ache, head ache, shivering, sore throat and fatigue are common. Diarrhea and vomiting are also symptoms that have been associated with some cases of this flu, also known as Influenza A.

H1N1 is transmitted the same way like seasonal flu. Flu viruses are spread usually from person to person through sneezing or coughing by people who have influenza. Some people may become infected with the deadly H1N1 by touching something that has virus on it and then bringing to their nose or mouth.

Infected people can actually infect others from the first day itself, even before they themselves get any symptoms. This means there are also chances that one can pass on the swine flu symptoms even before she or he knows that she or he is sick.

If you live in places where people have been infected with H1N1 virus or have influenza like symptoms mentioned above, then you should stay home and avoid contact with these people. If you develop flu like symptoms, do not leave things to chance and take instant medical care. Your health care provider or doctor will be able to tell you whether H1N1 flu testing is required.

Evidence Emerges That Seasonal Flu Vaccine Increases Risk of H1n1 Swine Flu

(NaturalNews) To hear it from the vaccine makers, their vaccines are perfectly safe and have no side effects. A person can receive an unlimited number of vaccines (10, 100 or even 1000) and have absolutely no ill effects, they claim. This is the quack science mythology upon which mass vaccination policies are currently based. But new evidence is emerging that people receiving a seasonal flu shot are made more susceptible to H1N1 swine flu as a result.

CBC News in Canada is now reporting disturbing findings you need to know about: “Four Canadian studies involved about 2,000 people, health officials told CBC News. Researchers found people who had received the seasonal flu vaccine in the past were more likely to get sick with the H1N1 virus.”

The story doesn’t cite the percentage increase in H1N1 virus risk, but it’s apparently enough to give pause to many doctors and infectious disease experts. “We don’t know with this year’s flu shot how it interacts with the pandemic flu shot, so it’s a worry,” said Dr. Michael Gardam in the CBC News article quoted below. He’s the director of infectious diseases prevention and control at the Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion.

The upshot of all this is that Canadian health officials are now scratching their heads, wondering whether the seasonal flu vaccines will actually make the H1N1 pandemic worse!

It’s fascinating that this data is coming out of Canada, not the U.S. In the United States, the mainstream media has engaged in a virtual blackout of any information that questions the safety of vaccines, even while openly pushing outrageous lies about the swine flu vaccine (http://www.naturalnews.com/027055_swine_flu_vaccines_swine_flu_vaccine.html).
Vaccines weaken your immune system

What this information reveals is further evidence that flu shots damage or weaken your immune system, making you more susceptible to subsequent infections. Flu shots don’t even work to reduce your risk of getting the flu that they’re targeting! Most people who get the flu are the very same people who routinely receive flu shots.

This will hold true with H1N1 swine flu as well: The people getting the swine flu virus will be primarily those who routinely receive flu vaccinations.

You know why? Because a flu shot trains your immune system to be lazy. It exposes your immune technology to an artificially weakened virus, resulting in a lazy adaptive response from your immune technology. In much the same way that your leg muscles atrophy if you stop walking, your immune system begins to weaken if you don’t exercise it. And this leads to an increased risk of being unable to defend against future exposure to infectious disease, which is exactly what we’re seeing with this Canadian study.

Vaccines are the quackery of modern medicine. They not only don’t work to protect people from the diseases they target; they also increase the risk of being infected with other diseases. And that doesn’t even include the ways in which vaccine ingredients (adjuvants or preservatives) can cause permanent damage to your nervous system.

If vaccines strengthen the immune system (as vaccine makers imply), then why do people who take such vaccines end up at higher risk of future infections? The only rational explanation for this is that vaccines compromise immune function. And if that’s true, then why should anyone take them in the first place?
Vitamin D makes flu shot vaccines obsolete

We could do away with vaccines almost entirely by giving people vitamin D supplements instead. Seasonal flu is no match for healthy levels of vitamin D in the blood, and with the addition of a few immune-supporting nutrients (like vitamin C, zinc, and omega-3 oils), the days of people getting sick from the seasonal flu would be all but over.

People who have adequate levels of vitamin D in their blood rarely get sick from seasonal flu. The flu primarily strikes those who are nutritionally deficient in one or more key immune system nutrients.

But rather than teach patients how to correct those deficiencies, the entire industry of western medicine would much rather poke a hole in your arm, inject you with chemicals, charge you forty bucks and keep you in the dark about the nutrients that would have protected you better in the first place. That’s modern medicine for you: Consumer ignorance plus chemical intervention. It’s a great recipe for making money, but it’s a terrible recipe for protecting public health.

That’s why I say just say no to ALL vaccines. They harm you far more than they help, and they’re based on the most absurd medical quackery you can imagine. As is common throughout the pharmaceutical industry, most of the “evidence” supporting the efficacy of vaccines was fabricated by drug companies. There is absolutely no evidence anywhere in the world that says vaccines protect you from seasonal flu better than vitamin D and immune-boosting nutrients. There’s not even any trustworthy evidence that seasonal flu shots reduce your long-term risk of being infected with the flu.

But now there is evidence that receiving a seasonal flu shot may increase your risk of contracting H1N1 swine flu, and that’s something to carefully consider if you value your health (or your life).

A Pandemic Six Times as Deadly as Swine Flu And The Government Does Nothing. Why?

That government has become, to it’s shame, an appendage of the big corporations and is nowhere better evinced than the betrayal of the citizenry by those bureaucracies that purport to be safeguarding our health.

Nothing is done, for instance, about the pandemic of drug deaths resulting from prescriptions drugs. If a pandemic alert can be declared and the government galvanized to some sort of action, however batty, and great consternation and prophesies of doom leap out at us from the front pages of newspapers over Swine Flu for example, then why not the same level of concern over the deaths caused by prescription drugs?

As of November 17th, Swine Flu had claimed just over 8,000 lives worldwide, while over the previous 300 days, death by prescription drugs claimed nearly 49,000 lives – that is Six times as many deaths from prescription drugs as from the Swine Flu virus.

So, why the wailing and gnashing of teeth over Swine Flu on the part of the dangerously inept entities that presume to rule our lives, while prescription drug deaths raise apparently little concern, even though they expunged Six Times as many human beings in the past year?

Worse, Swine Flu is – or so we are told – an act of nature. It will run its course and die out. The prescription drug epidemic, on the other hand, is entirely man made; it is caused by the decisions, choices and actions of men. And it will be with us from hereon out, claiming lives by the tens of thousands relentlessly into the far future unless men do something about it. Natural calamities, it would seem, pale to insignificance, compared with the devastation we can visit upon ourselves. Actually, I should say compared with the devastation that can be inflicted by a few men upon the rest of us.

Robert DuPont, former White House drug czar and former director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse said, “The biggest and fastest-growing part of America’s drug problem is prescription drug abuse. The statistics are unmistakable.”

USA Today reports that about 120,000 Americans end up in hospital after overdosing on just on opioid painkillers each year, and prescription drugs in general cause most of the more than 26,000 fatal overdoses annually.

You would think that such a death toll would galvanize the powers that be to action wouldn’t you?

I don’t know about you, but if were in charge of the government and I became aware of this pandemic of drugging that is killing far more of my fellow human beings even than swine flu year in and year out and that, at the same time, the health of the nation is getting weaker and “depression” and so forth, are so much on the rise that even our armed forces are committing suicide faster than the enemy can kill them, I’d want to know what the heck is going on and who is responsible for this mayhem – and I would darn sure do everything in my power to stop it.

I would certainly not be trying to defend the purveyors of death nor make excuses for them nor deflect criticism from them. Neither, would I be willing to mobilize the forces of the state so as to protect this status quo, I don’t care whose profits are at stake.

But that’s just me, naïve soul that I am: I forget sometimes that there is hardly a government on the planet, so-called democracy or otherwise, that did not grow out of the determination of one vested interest group or another to protect and advance itself and that Presidents, Prime Ministers and political parties also have a hidden senior echelon to whom they must answer.

Okay, so obviously some modern calamities elicit concern and action of some kind, however badly thought through. Other calamities, though worse, do not stir the powers that be out of their torpor.

Clearly then, some calamities are considered bad while other mass killers are considered acceptable, even though they claim more lives.

Who decides such things and on what criteria?

Well, the profits of big corporations would appear to be one of the criteria and whoever it is our governments work for, they do not work for the good of all the people.

Until they do, they do not deserve and indeed must not be given our support.

How Can You Reduce The Risk of Swine Flu in The Workplace?

Naturally, many people are worried at the moment about Swine Flu and the risk of passing germs from one person to another. So, without living like a hermit, what can you do to lower the risk of passing on, or catching, something at work?

Well, the first thing is that you need to learn a little bit about how viruses like to exist!

They cannot reproduce from nothing, and most only have a 72 hour lifespan, so like us all, they are keen to find a way of reproducing. The kind of environments that they like are around us all the time. They like: Fat and Oil, Warmth, Food, Moisture. Sounds like most offices, and many houses!

So, the practical steps you can take;

Do not eat near your desk. The desk is usually a prime place for bacteria to live, as they get oils from your skin, warmth from computer equipment. When you eat at your desk, you are also giving them a platform to exist on. To prove this, turn over your keyboard, and give it two or three taps. See what drops out!

Do not put food in your office bins. Eat in a seperate area, and use the bin in the canteen / kitchen

Wash bins regularly, or ask your contract cleaners to include this in their daily routine. This has a major effect in reducing the risk of spreading germs.

BANISH SOAP – Think about it. Fat, moisture, nooks and crannies – all the most important things if you are a flu virus! Ditch the bars of soap, and invest in wall mounted, dosed dispensers. We can provide these for about a tenner – they aren’t expensive.

Use paper towels and/or hand dryers. The debate about this one rages on, but the most important thing is not to have a communal tea towel to dry hands on. Again, moisture and fat are a germ’s friend.

Make use of Antibacterial hand gels. We can supply these, but to be honest you can nip down to your local high street chemist or supermarket and pick them up cheap. Why not place one on every desk.

“Encourage” staff to wash their hands. A few strategically placed signs can aid immensely, especially in the washrooms. Did you know that 6 million Brits do not wash their hands after going to the toilet? Oh, and it’s not all Men by the way – just Google it!

Ask your cleaning contractor if they are taking additional steps at the moment. We are increasing the number and frequency of antibacterial treatments and products for the time being, and I know a lot of other cleaners are doing the same.

We are also providing a Workspace Sanitisation service. This is where your office phone, keyboard, mouse, headset and desk get a good clean and are treated with a germicidal wash. See if your cleaning company can offer similar.

How To Fight Swine Flu

Swine flu is fast spreading around the world and WHO has already declared it a pandemic, but this virus is not as deadly as the media has made it out to be. Some simple precautionary measures can easily help you prevent this flu and even if you get this flu your body can fight it out if you have a good immune system

Who is at risk
It has been noted that people who are suffering from any time of health condition like diabetes or who have a weak immune system like children and aged people have been primarily targeted by this virus.

How To Prevent Swine Flu
