Hot Tips to Maintain Your Weight

Losing those extra pounds and keeping them off is easier said than done. Most people are guilty of slipping back into their old (and most of the time bad) eating habits and exercise less, but there are various precautions you can adopt to ensure consistent weight maintenance and lasting weight loss.

Listed below are some tips, which you can easily incorporate into your daily life, that will help you to maintain your weight for the long run.

1. Many diet plans require you to change all your dietary habits overnight. While this can be easy to follow at the start, eventually this dramatic diet change will trigger cravings that can result in relapses and you are most likely to go back to your old eating habits, or worse, result in you eating more and gaining more weight.

The trick to losing weight permanently is to take small steps to change your dietary habits. Be sure to follow a healthy diet comprising 40% carbohydrates, 30% proteins and 30% fats before adopting the following techniques:

1. slowly remove high fat/unhealthy food from your diet. If for example, you normally eat ice cream 4 times a week, begin slowly by reducing your portions to 3 times a week, 2 times a week, once a week and none a week.

2. Reward yourself. Rewarding yourself with your favourite food or food which you only have on special occasions after you have achieved a milestone in your diet plan, will motivate you to work harder. These rewards will also help to prevent cravings and binge eating.

3. Find time to exercise. If you have no time or are too bogged down with work to go to a yoga class or gym in the evening, go for a walk during your lunch break, climb the stairs instead of taking the lift or do some weight lifting while watching your favourite television programmes.

4. Try natural slimming pills. You can take natural weight loss pills even after you have reached your ideal weight. Produced using natural ingredients, these diet pills can aid in weight maintenance.

5. Eat small meals regularly. Spliting your meals into 5 small portions consisting of 300 calories and spacing out the meals in a day, can help to prevent cravings and keep your metabolism working.

6. Drink more water. We often mistook thirst as hunger. Therefore, the next time you feel a hunger pang, try drinking half a glass of water and wait for a while. Listen to your body carefully. If you still feel hungry after a while, eat some healthy snacks such as fuits.

Many a time, these hunger pangs will just disappear.
