Losing Weight Through Intermittent Fasting

One of the most frustrating things one can do is losing weight. With all the information and misinformation all over the place on this topic, it is no wonder that many people give a few methods “guaranteed to bring results” and eventually throw in the towel. The best philosophy in this case is: The simpler the program, the better. Simple programs have higher chances of success and fasting is simple because it has no special foods, no hype and no expenses.

Intermittent fasting

What exactly does intermittent fasting mean and why should you even consider in losing weight? Intermittent fasting is a practice of short-term fasting seasons. Each season can last 24 hours and you can fast for one or two seasons in a week. The primary objective of the intermittent fasting is not to ensure that the system is “cleansed” as many people to believe, although it does that too. Its objective is first to reduce the amount of calories that you take in without having to resort to starvation, dieting or other ways to cut down on calories taken in. However, it is not beneficial to fast for one day in a week and eat all the junk food you can find the other six days; to make this plan a success, it has to go hand in hand with healthy eating.

Principle of weight loss

The principle of weight loss is consuming fewer calories than the calories spent. If you fast for two days in a week, you will reduce the amount of calories you consume dramatically and this contributes to your weight loss. This weight loss plan has no crazy and ridiculous meal plans and only demands that you eat food that fit a certain lifestyle and has the right food content. Fasting is neither restrictive nor strenuous compared to other weight loss plans advocated all over. It is very liberating, gives you the power to control your own body and you will achieve your targets of losing weight within a period that it takes to perform most other weight loss plans.

Effectiveness of the fasting weight loss plan

If you lose weight through fasting, your body will automatically adapt to the new lifestyle and the changes can last a lifetime if you wish so. Just like any other weight loss programs, this program will need you to start low and build up. At the beginning, it is normal for the body to show signs of resistance and more craving for the older eating habits but it will only be for a certain period of time. Instead, take the feeling as an opportunity you have to leave behind all the bad eating habits that you had been accustomed to and are now starting a new, fresh chapter of a healthy life.

This program works faster if it is combined with lowly intensive training and exercising programs. If you need to see faster results, you should consider basic exercises during the days that you are not fasting to rapidly increase the amount of calories you are spending. The most vital point to remember about intermittent fasting is that it is not a diet plan that you should follow and drop once you have attained the weight level you desired. It is a lifestyle that you can stick to and have a good healthy living.
